AbilityMatch connects people with disabilities with meaningful employment opportunities based on their strengths and corresponding employer needs. Ultimately, the goal is to create long-term employment relationships where there is mutual value for both the employee and employer.

Our Story.

AbilityMatch was founded in 2020 to address a critical need for high-quality job development and employment placement services for adults with disabilities. Far too many of today’s state-funded supported employment agencies are under pressure to simply “make a placement” which results in clients being pushed into any available job, and in many cases, one that is not a true match for the individual’s interests, abilities, and potential.

At the same time, businesses are increasingly more willing to hire people with disabilities and it’s helping the bottom line. In fact, many companies are citing a high return on investment (ROI) related to hiring people with disabilities, who employers say are loyal, enthusiastic, and productive — sometimes more than their neurotypical co-workers.

By privatizing job development for people with disabilities, we are creating the space and time to provide true customized employment services that focus on matching each individual person’s abilities with a specific employer who has a need for that same skill set. By identifying a “value add” for the employer, we ensure the offer of employment is both genuine and sustainable.
